To find affordable web design, compare what each quote includes, choose the pages and features your customers need, and check the ongoing costs before deciding. A lower build price is only useful if the finished website explains your services clearly and makes it easy to contact you.
This guide uses Easy Flow Web Design’s published packages as practical examples. We work directly with small businesses in Lithgow, Bathurst, the Blue Mountains and across Australia.
Start with the job your website needs to do
Write down who your customers are, what you want them to understand and the action you want them to take. A sole trader promoting one service may need a simple introduction and enquiry form. A business offering several services may need separate pages so visitors can find the right information. Online sales and appointment bookings need different features again.
List the essentials first: service information, business details, photos, contact options and any booking or payment requirements. Separate those from features you might add later. This gives designers a clear brief and makes their quotes easier to compare.
Compare website packages by scope
| Package | Published price | When to consider it |
|---|---|---|
| One-page website | $400 | A focused introduction to a business, its services and contact options. |
| Five-page website | $650 | A business that needs separate pages for services, background information and enquiries. |
| Small Business Growth Package | $1,000 | An 11-page website with room for dedicated service and location pages. |
These are different scopes, rather than interchangeable offers. Compare the current inclusions and explain any extra features before accepting a quote. Check whether tax, content preparation, hosting and any third-party subscriptions are included in your final written quote.
Ask about the costs after launch
Ask what hosting, domain renewal, business email, maintenance and paid software will cost after any included period ends. Also ask who handles updates and backups, how content changes are charged and what support is available if something stops working.
For reference, our five-page package lists 12 months of hosting. Check the ongoing arrangement before proceeding. You can also review our hosting and WordPress maintenance services.
Look at relevant completed work
Choose examples that show how a designer presents a business similar to yours. Open the site on your phone. Can you understand the services, find the contact details and make an enquiry without hunting through menus?
Our portfolio includes different business types. For local examples, explore Lithgow Refrigeration Heating & Cooling, Positive Powder Coating in Bathurst and the DC Removals redesign in Hazelbrook. These case studies explain the project approach; they are not promises of a particular ranking or enquiry result.
Send a brief that makes quotes comparable
Include your business name, the services you provide, the areas you serve, your current website address, the pages you need, any booking or ecommerce features, your available photos and text, and your budget and preferred launch timing.
Ask each designer to confirm the page count, included revisions, responsibility for supplying content, recurring costs and what access you receive at handover. Comparing the same scope is more useful than comparing headline prices alone.
